WHO IS KuasaSemi?


KuasaSemi is a UK-based software company incorporated in December 2022, with its registered office in Cardiff, Wales.

The company develops semiconductor design and simulation tools for the next-generation technologies, with a particular focus on wide-bandgap semicondcutor devices.

KuasaSemi's team brings experience in Wide-Bandgap materials and device, power electronics, semiconductor device modelling, circuit simulation and software development. The company collaborates with international companies, universities, and industry groups. It will continue to develop its activities.

ABOUT AQUARIUS TCAD


Aquarius is KuasaSemi's TCAD package for the design and simulation of next-generation Wide-Bandgap power devices. It supports the modelling of silicon and compound semiconductor materials.

MEET THE SPEAKERS


Michael Mawby

CEO & Co-Founder, KuasaSemi

A Chartered Engineer with a First Class Master's in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He brings extensive experience in power electronics and wide bandgap semiconductor technologies, having worked across the automotive, renewable energy, and smart grid sectors. Prior to founding KuasaSemi, Michael held engineering roles with organisations including McLaren Automotive, Ricardo, and Turbo Power Systems, and led Innovate UK and APC-funded development projects. His leadership and contribution to innovation were recognised in 2024 when he received the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Thirty Under Thirty Award.

David Mawby

CTO & Co-Founder, KuasaSemi

With a background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and expertise in software development, electronic circuit simulation, and semiconductor device modelling. His experience spans both the semiconductor and renewable energy sectors, including responsibility for control system design and delivery at a leading UK renewable energy company and IC applications work across East Asia. David is passionate about advancing simulation tools for next-generation semiconductor technologies and was invited to speak at the 2024 International Compound Semiconductors Conference in Taiwan, where he presented on the limitations of existing TCAD simulation approaches.
